The Pelagos sanctuary (by S.O.S Grand Bleu, May 2004)
This protected marine area extends over 87,500 km2, within the Corso-Liguro-Provençal basin. In 1999, France, Italy and Monaco signed the Sanctuary agreements in Rome. The aim of this zone is to protect cetaceans and their habitats against all causes of disturbance: pollution, accidental capture and injury, disturbance, etc.
